Why Organisations Need a Structured Problem-Solving System
Many organisations face the same operational challenges:
-
Problems escalated too quickly
-
Managers overloaded with day-to-day issues
-
Teams waiting for direction instead of solving problems
-
Improvement Opportunities missed because issues are not understood properly

The LEDA 5-Step Problem Solving System
The LEDA 5-Step Problem Solving System is a structured problem-solving coaching system designed to help employees at every level solve real work challenges with clarity and ownership. The system provides a consistent, repeatable method for framing problems, understanding the current state, defining a target state, generating solutions, and committing to action.
The LEDA 5-Step Problem Solving System is used across multiple sectors and organisational levels, from new graduates entering the workforce to supervisors, managers, senior leaders, Group CEOs, and C-Suite executives. It is designed to work in day-to-day operational environments, not just formal coaching conversations.

The 5-Steps
1. Frame and Focus - what is the issue?
2. Discover the Current State - where are you now with this issue?
3. Set the Target State - where are you trying to get to?
4. Generate Possible Solutions - what can you try next to achieve your target
5. Coach to Commitment - what is the first thing you need to do

The LEDA 5-Step Problem Solving System underpins the AI-Powered SOLVE Platform, enabling organisations to apply structured coaching and problem-solving at scale across their workforce.
The LEDA 5-Step Problem Solving System was created by Ash Alexander FCIM, HRD Corp National Thought Leader and former Research Fellow with the National Human Resource Centre (NHRC). Ash Alexander is the first non-Malaysian ever appointed as an HRD Corp National Thought Leader and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (UK).
The LEDA 5-Step Problem Solving System has been applied across sectors including oil and gas, plantations, mining and quarrying, automotive manufacturing and sales, manufacturing, engineering and construction, logistics and supply chain, financial services, technology, public sector and government-linked companies, and multinational corporations, across Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia.
